Clara Virginia Spears

Clara Virginia Spears, 87, passed away surrounded by her loving family in Jonesboro December 20, 2024. Clara was born on October 29, 1937, in Florence, Alabama to the late John Leslie Parrish and Ora Mae Ezekiel Parrish.
Clara was married to Robert “Jimmy” Spears on November 2, 1952, until his death on December 27, 2011. She was a faithful member of the Word of Truth Church in Monroe and was also a proud homemaker for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Spears; parents, John and Ora Parrish; a son, Curtis Thurman Spears; daughter, Melba Jean Spears; and two granddaughters, Amanda Ann Clemons, and Shannon Lee Spears. She is survived by three children, Ann Clemons of Moro, Teressa Hickman of Dyess, and Jimmy Wayne Spears of Clarendon; along with seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, December 23 at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley with Bro. Lonnie Parrish officiating. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery at Moro. Pallbearers were Mark Clemons, Dustin Spears, David Sullivan, Timothy Sullivan, Robert Sullins, and Chris Clemons. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Wayne Clark, Phillip Miller and Dustin Evans. Arrangements were by Fowler Funeral Home of Brinkley.
